Dates for admission to BDS courses extended, after SC allows lowering of marks


MUMBAI: After a Supreme Court order allowed lowering of marks by 10 percentile for admission to dental courses, the Maharashtra state’s CET cell has extended the registration deadline up to 5 pm today. Students with 113 out of 720 marks in NEET can also register for admissions to BDS courses. Candidates who have already registered need not do it again. The CET cell will publish a combined merit list by 8 pm today. A detailed activity list has been published on the admission portal.

For this institutional level round in government and corporation colleges and even in private unaided/minority dental colleges, seat vacant position will be displayed by soon after 8 pm today.

Centre’s Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will also be conducting a third stray vacancy round to fill up the vacant dental seats in deemed institutes, after the lowering of the eligibility score. The registration for the same will commence from February 12 and will go on till February 14.

After several rounds of admissions, seats in dental courses still remained vacant across institutions in the country.
