MUMBAI: Mumbai will have to wait till February 10 to know if India batsman Shreyas Iyer, who missed the Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy last month due to a shoulder injury, will recover and be available for the Vijay Hazare One-Day Trophy, which is likely to begin on February 15.
“He has informed us that he is recuperating in the National Cricket Academy (NCA) and will be able to tell us on 10th if he will be fit and available to play in the Vijay Hazare Trophy,” Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) secretary Sanjay Naik told TOI.
After initially naming 104 probables for the Vijay Hazare Trophy, Mumbai’s selectors pruned down the list to 39 on Tuesday. These probables have been divided into three teams, A, B & C, which will play practice matches on February 4, 5 & 6.
Team A will be led by Suryakumar Yadav, Team B by all-rounder Shivam Dube and Team C by India discard Prithvi Shaw.
